We, the undersigned, request that the New Paltz Central School District restore to the 2009-2010 budget the $7,000 allocated to improving school lunches and implement the Nutrition Task Force Recommendations in full by the end of the 2009-2010 school year.
The Nutrition Task Force Recommendations were presented to the Board of Education over a year ago and progress has been too slow in implementing them. We ask for meaningful action from the District. We ask the Board of Education to fulfill it's commitment to improving the school lunch program.
(Please note that if you are asked for a donation after completing the petition it is NOT for HFHK. It is for iPetitions and is not required.)
I really thought this might just float around the ether unnoticed but seeing the board meetings get so much busier lately makes me think we might actually force their hand. It is honestly surreal to watch this grow and I have been trying to figure out how to best get these names in front of the people at the district office before they try to brush us off again.

My kids come home hungry every single day because they refuse to eat the garbage served in the cafeteria. Do better for our children.

What is the point of a task force if you just ignore their advice?? Complete waste of time. Just fix the lunches already.

Healthy food is basically a requirement for learning. Why is this so hard for the board to understand??
