I am sure there is another way to resolve this problem, never heard of any other country shutting down the government to resolve governmental issues, what a shame, so many smart people that together can get a solution for a problem, shame on you!
I’m a Federal Employee with The IRS. My job requires direct contact with taxpayers and helping with their returns and questions. I have been out on this shutdown for 19 days. Taxpayers and we who serve the government are being held hostage
Please work together I want to go back to work.

Reopen the government. Provide all the back pay to all federal employees. Provide a pay-raise retroactively to October 1, 2018 or minimally to January 1, 2019.
