Everyone need to get what they paid for especially if you promise my wife she’ll be CaCrap by the time she graduated it’s unfair.

Almost 100k gone down the drain to not even have a cacrep accredited diploma. NSU failed once again. Or you either do something about it, or refund our money. Many federal jobs require MHC to be cacrep accredited and I’m sure NSU is aware of it, but has not done anything about it. What a shame

Such an expensive degree and nothing to show for. How can we be proud of being a MHC?

The MHC program at Nova is a joke and when you earn your diploma, it doesnt even say clinical mental health counseling on it. It simply says: counseling. Counseling can be anything and we dont wanna just be anything. We want to be CMHC period!

I graduated from this program in 2018, & I was strung along the entire program in The NSU MHC program. It's Truly SAD I was lied to regarding CACREP Accreditation. My class was also assured that 'IT was In The Works'.. My degree Cost A lot of Money, & it's NOT as marketable nor as valuable as other Universities that have CACREP. In plain English, this lack of CACREP has & still does EXCLUDE Me from jobs.
Totally Ridiculously Disappointed,

Apparently, Nova was never CACREP accredited which impacts your ability to further you education and certain jobs (i.e. federal employment). Plus, I paid a lot of money that I did not have for a degree that is not CACREP. I have student loans I'll never be able to pay off. For a non-accredited degree??

I am a grad student from their Mental Health Counseling program and I’ve always been so proud to be an alumni from NSU. I was lucky and literally lucky that this new law took effect in March (I passed my licensure test on January of the same year 2017). If I have to start again and had to pick a school, now that the law is in effect and NSU is not CACREP accredited. I would not even consider NSU for Mental health besides, being extremely expressive and doesn’t have the credentials... no way!

So i completed my MS in counseling in 2016. When i applied i was told it was cacrep accrediated. Only to graduate and contact other schools for a doctorate degree only tk be told i would have to basically go back and take additional. classes. Welp, here we are 3 years after graduation snd still not able to get into a cacrep accredited program due to Nova’s lie about accreditation. I want a doctorate but may have to take another educational route.

Update: In December 2018, NSU’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program applied for secondary specialty accreditation through the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), and is published on CACREP’s Directory section of their website as “Application in Process."
