Like we have 45 to 60 minutes to wait for a phone call to be answered then another 30 just to be told they have no record of something sent in 3 months prior

Although I do not agree with everything in this petition, I feel very strongly about laws and tax changes being made untimely. I feel the IRS has a lot of problems. Why is it that refunds amounting to $500 or more are allowed to be sent in the mail. These refunds should be applied to next year's taxes or be required to be picked-up at an IRS office in the area. We were asked to be a part of the E-File system and yet that system has a lot of problems. When CP Notices are received over a year from when the tax return was filed, pertaining to incorrect W-2 or 1099R information; well that is just wrong. Having taxpayers identity or personal information compromised is not and never will be acceptable.

Every one wants to cut jobs, how about cutting the wages of the BIG guys. They get increases no matter what, the little guy pays the price. The same goes for the State representatives and Congress they all make to much money a year and even after they retire it is not fair to the little guy.

The trying to get help for our clients is beyond acceptable at this point. Computerized notices with no way to stop with IRS lack of response on there side.
The changing tax law last minute is getting worse and worse out of control. Time to stand up and let them know we can not continue this way.. We are the voting people you need to listen to us!!!

This is sorely needed. IRS service is currently non-existent. It is almost impossible to resolve an issue once it has arisen. This places a tremendous burden on taxpayers and practitioners alike with collection action on incorrect assessments but no one at the IRS can address either a phone contact or correspondence to resolve the issue.

Tax Practitioners need all the help they can get from IRS. We try very hard to do a good job, but it ties our hands when we can't get to the IRS for help with some of our difficult questions. Especially during the hectic tax filing season.

this is a very important step to releave IRS burden on tax practioners. there should be no tax laws passed for a prior year, only the upcoming year.

These are valid issues - and they involve Congress, as well as the IRS. For the last several years Congress has been totally irresponsible and counter-productive. Rather than encouraging economic growth, by passing late legislation, they have made it impossible for businesses to take advantage of key tax benefits during the business year.
And Congress's blind resentment of the IRS, cutting their budget, has reduced tax collection efficiency and caused taxpayers more hardship than help.
Pass this legislation.

It is difficult enough helping taxpayers comply with the bevy of existing confusing tax code and having to deal with less support at the center of the issues is impossible to comprehend. Add this to the fact that more and more elected officials past and present ignore the tax laws is ridiculous.

All of the above. PLUS, the "Practitioner Hotline" has become a JOKE. Previously wait times of well over an hour were common. This was inconvenient, but tolerable. LATELY, the "Hotline will not even put the called in the "waiting cue". "Due to extremely high call volume we are unable to take your call at this time...." IRS can not take the call; yet, the notices- collection and otherwise continue to roll out. IRS demands responses in 30 days or less; but IRS is doing well if it can art on a response in any less that 60 to 90 days. Talk about hypocrisy?
