It would be nice to have some this items implemented.

Yes, it has been a nightmare trying to get answers from the IRS this year. One day we were on hold for 3 hours starting at 1:30 pm and not being able to resolve a simple problem by 4:30 with having faxed over all pertinent information only to be told that the revenue agent was not familiar with this issue. BTW this was not during tax season. HOLY COW!

It is about time. We tax preparers are being required to act as watchdogs for the IRS and we have little protection.

I agree that Congress is short sighted on cutting the budget of the IRS, it's funding source, but efficiencies also have to be implemented within the department to do a better job with less, like maybe a chat room for questions instead of phone calls, or a better website that can take input of taxpayer variables and apply the tax law to answer the question. We have to let go of some old costly ways of doing business.

How can we possibly serve our clients (and the Federal government!] with the current conditions!! The IRS should be ashamed of the treatment we (and taxpayers) receive daily! As I write this response I have been on hold with the IRS for 1.5 hours...and this happens EVERY DAY!! Beyond ridiculous!

It's so true, the Department of the Internal Revenue Service is "breaking down". Customer Service has dropped drastically and they are not helpful at all. Not enough personnel in this crucial area.
