IRS must do better. The service is not up to par and creates frustration.

I would like to know why I need a power of attorney to reply to a simple notice from the IRS, when the client has checked "Yes" to the Third Party Designee question. This is a huge issue for me.

Add to correctly stated issues the fact that IRS is making tax preparers their unpaid filing cabinets for a lot of documents that in the past were the responsibility of the IRS.

This petition is past due. We, as tax professionals, know that without these requested changes, taxpayers will continue to suffer economic consequences.

Totally agreement with the proposal. Seems like common sense is still missing at IRS.

The IRS needs to respond to our inquires in a more timely manner. We want the taxpayers to pay the right tax, but we need more and better professional help from the IRS. It makes no sense to cut the IRS budget at this time. The wait time adds to the bill we need to charge the client, which is not fair, when a more efficient system would help eliminate this.

I think this is a great start. IRS is our Country's bread and butter and Congress needs to help them do their job not make it impossible to do it. It's hard to help your clients if you can't get a answer from IRS. When I call, I'm on hold for 2 to 3 hours or they just say they are to busy call back and hang up on me. IRS gets the blame but really it's Congress. Hope this happens.

As IRS has been overwhelmed with demands to handle ACA and their traditional workload, taxpayers and tax practitioners have felt the brunt of the corner cutting and incompetence

IRS services have been declining for years due to budget cuts and it is the taxpayers and tax practitioners who have to deal with delays, extremely slow results and penalties. It is time for ALL tax and accounting organizations to unite in sending a message to Congress.

Congress makes it Impossible for Tax Professionals to give our clients ANY Tax Planning Advice. We do NOT have Tax Law for 2015....What are we suppose to do??? Use a crystal ball?? Dart Board?.

It is just like Congress to continue to cut IRS funding while "forcing' the IRS to do more work (i.e., ObamaCare). The more work that is required by IRS employees means there are less qualified employees to fill any of the roles the IRS needs to fill (such as customer service, enforcement, education (of the public and tax practitioners, as well as the IRS' own employees). It is time to stop defunding the IRS, and start defunding other programs (such as sending billions of dollars to other countries that are enemies of the US). The Tax Practitioners Bill of Rights is long overdue. I think it is short in many areas, but at least it is a starting point.

Perhaps Congress should check the national checkbook. Without IRS in business collecting revenues, the checkbook is suffering.
