I'm currently dealing with the IRS. Poorest service I've experienced in 32 years of preparing returns.

This petition reflects so many of the issues practitioners and IRS have faced during the last several national budget adjustments.

Seems to me like the ever increasing complexity is pushing long time tax professionals out of the game. Without as many younger professionals entering the game, where will that leave the status???

The IRS needs to be staffed adequately as well as having to follow their own rules.

The budget cuts are not the major problem. The problem is the management of resources. Reduce the waste of staff that are really not working to 100% capacity. Quit worrying about your budget to keep the manpower that you have in order to maintain your pay grade. By the way I am referring to management levels. After all some of those mid-level managers are unnecessary and could reallocate the funds. Also, abusive spending on lavish training sites when local office training would suffice. Take a hard look at how to trim costs and require accountability.

This will benefit the practitioner and the IRS as much as anything proposed in my 39 years of practice. Hopefully the IRS will join us in our goal!!

As a member since June-1971, I believe that the tax laws should be passed at least six months before the start of tax season for year we are going to be preparing.

I would really appreciate acceptance of the NSA Tax Practitioner Bill of Rights. It will cover those items that I feel are not receiving the time or attention that they receive from the IRS.

Sadly, the system has become more cumbersome, more difficult and less customer-oriented.

More assistance from IRS for tax practitioners would benefit the taxpayer and the IRS, not just the practitioner!

In my opinion, tax laws that affect the current year should be passed prior to the start of the year so taxpayers have ample time to plan and make good business decisions taking into account any legal tax breaks.

It has become next to impossible to deal with the IRS, learn tax laws that are passed days before tax season and comply with the ever fattening tax code. Time for a reality check!

It's clear that with the proposed budget cuts, service to the practitioners will be severely diminished.
