I think this is a good idea on the surface, then you begin to think about secrecy, initiation, and the true meaning of sisterhood. By giving a second chance you are taking away the secrecy behind sororities that many hold very dear to them. It is a privilege to be apart of a group like this, not a right.

Women should be able to have a do-over or have a chance to join another sorority, especially if they transfer or have a bad experience the first time around.

I was president of my chapter and a traveling consultant after graduation, had a wonderful experience. Today, the computer programming keeps recruitment sizes fairly equal, but some girls end up in sororities that are not a good fit for them. They try to see it through, but I see so many deactivate at the university near where I live (my sorority is not on campus here). I support the opportunity to give them a second chance.

I'm a transfer student that has been stuck like this as well. I loved my chapter, but after only one semester I had to transfer out of state and now my chapter has folded, so I couldn't even choose to return if I wanted to. My new state doesn't have a school with a chapter even remotely close to me and I've tried to colonize my current school several times with no success. Given extenuating circumstances, we should be able to join another NPC organization at least the one time. And for those who argue just to use alumnae resources if your chapter folded or if you transfer, it is not the same. It doesn't give you the experience, friendship, and sisterhood/family relationships that you are looking for when you join. We need to reform this rule!

My daughter was initiated into a sorority that was suspended two days after initiation. She was not involved in the infraction in any way. She will be ready to graduate before the sorority is reinstated. Why shouldn't she get a chance at a real sorority experience? While the money is an issue for us, given the short time she spend actually in the sorority. We are grieving the loss of experiences and growth that she expected through the association.

This NEEDS to change! I understand becoming a sister and creating bonds but when the people you’re supposed to call your sister destroy those bonds and there’s no connection after initiating because the girls put on a nice face and then change when you’re in you should have every right to leave and try to get the sister hood aspect you wanted to begin with even if that means trying somewhere else.

This hits so close to home. I transferred and while I loved my sorority at my first school, it was not the right fit at my current school. I wish I had the ability to re-rush and find my organization.
THIS!! It's 2020. This needs to change!
