Hon Speaker of Australian Parliament We the undersign Australian citizens are very concerned of the growing sectarian violence in the country. We watched with deep concern the Today Tonight program on 13 May 2013. The shocking scenes are very clear indication of the violence committed for the last few years by certain extremists following Al Qaeda teachings. We would like to ask our government and parliament to take actions to rein on these extremists. We remind our politicians that European governments are taking far advanced measures to reign on these groups. Some of the measures we would like our politicians to take could include closing down centres teaching sectarian hate, bookstores that promote such hate, arrest extremists who fought in Syria and other similar measures. We think that we witnessed enough violence by these extremists for the last few years.
