As a former educator I also agree it is essential work. The kids need to go back, especially for their mental health and COVID learning loss. Many students are being left behind. Not to mention NUSD might be taken over by the state.

Although we are committed to VLA at the HS level, I support those who want to return. I think the D/O and the union has stalled long enough.

NUSD should take a stand and listen to the families who support our schools 100%, not anyone else. The longer NUSD keeps kids out of school, the more disenfranchised we become at where their loyalties lie (read: taxpayer dollars, not childrens' best interests).

Outrageous that clerks at supermarkets , hardware stores , and so many retailers are exposed to hundreds if not thousands of people on a daily basis and yet the return of our teachers are not considered as important as retail clerks?

I’m proud of NUSD as a whole, especially our San Ramon Principal. However, the kids and families who wish to return should be allowed to do so. No plan is perfect, but action is needed. Please let the kids return.

Two Essential employees looking for structure for their two children. I’m a union member and we did what was best for the community and continued to work threw this pandemic no extra pay no extra benefits. Just did what was right.
