Parental Rights have been under attack for the last several years, but no one attack has been as potent and heinous as the United Nations' Convention on the Rights of the Child. The UNCRC has been ratified by every nation member of the UN except for the United States and Somalia, and we must keep it that way. Sign this petition to tell the US Congress: •This "treaty" has not benefited children in any concrete way in the past. •A treaty is not the proper way to handle domestic policy; according to the 10th Amendment to the US Constitution this should be handled by the states or left to the People. •The provisions of the UNCRC are not in the best interests of families. We, as Americans will not accept:   —An international committee (Committee on the Rights of the Child) deciding how to handle sensitive parent/child relationships in America   —The prohibition of any form of corporal punishment. (As interpreted; see note 11 on "more info" page to the right. also see Article 2)   —The censorship of Education contained in Article 29.   —The transfer of authority from the parents to the child and to the aforementioned committee.   —The "right" to grow up in a community without guns.
