We call on London Councils to reconsider threatened cuts which will effect some of the most vulnerable people in London.
We urge you to use your influence to ensure that London Councils:
1. Keeps the regional and cross-borough focus to future commissioning. 2. Does not hit the most disadvantaged.
3. Ensures that it carries out robust Equality Impact Assessments on any changes to the scheme prior to making decisions.
4. Ensures that its decision-making is transparent.
5. Works with voluntary sector experts to identify ‘truly’ pan-London services and continues to fund them.
6. Seeks commitments from all London local authority Leaders to ring fence any ‘saving’ from cuts to the scheme to be spent commissioning services from the voluntary sector locally.
7. Honours current funding arrangements and allows adequate transition to any new commissioning round.
8. Allows sufficient time to consult with partners on the future role and scope of the scheme and makes thoroughly informed decisions.
9. Works with Voluntary Sector Forum and partners to understand the impact of changes to the scheme and limits their damage.
