Clark County residents have continually rejected the proposals of Clark County having an airport authority. Citizens are generally opposed to having an appointed board that is allowed to raise taxes. Recently, a few local politicians have continued to push for such an entity and are playing shell games with where the tax money will come from. The most recent bill: SB535 gives River Ridge the authority to transfer funds to the airport. River Ridge has the authority to issue bonds, and the taxpayers have no right to remonstrate against those bonds.
