Barack Obama is considering Joel Klein as Secretary of Education. Please sign this petition to let him know that this would be a big mistake. Joel Klein is a union-busting lawyer who was placed in this position by a businessman (our current mayor), who also knows nothing about education. The public is unaware of the damage that these two have done to our school system here in New York City and we need to let the public know. There was a recent article in the New York Post about how Klein's choice of reading programs in NYC was a huge failure. Something which teachers have been trying to tell people all along. He is now considering a program that has been praised by teachers for many years. Choosing Klein would be like choosing Bush for another eight years. He is a lawyer,not an educator.
