As a resident of Northcote who travels over the bridge daily my options are very limited without the ferry and skypath. The government tells us they want to provide residents and communities with options and choice for how they travel. Best you get on and rebuild the wharf and get full construction of skypath underway.

Please listen to us local/rate payers, and Upgrade the Northcote Ferry Wharf and slightly repostion so useable in all weather conditions NOW please, AT,- the locals really need this alternative previous longstanding regular transport (before the damage) ferry connection to the CBD back. It so does make sense to give back this transport option to the Northcote locals plus all the other users from nearby areas. Direct ,fast, an alternative to public bus service, or cars, especially in rush hour. One can walk to the ferry from Northcote point.. Or take car and park further away. Plus, not in the least important in the big picture, but off peak more leisurely travellers can take our (larger) well behaved dogs or /and bikes with us, which are not allowed on the bus. ( hence no point taking a bus to Birkenhead Point first). It wil be a long time before the Skypath will be there....Please do the right thing and give us our Northcote Point Ferry service back with an all-weather wharf upgrade , thank you. Mariette

A terrible shame for the resisdents. This could also tempt people back into their cars. One of the most specials thing about Auckland are the ferries criss-crossing the harbour.

With the congestion on Auckland roads, its very important to maintain, or preferably expand and upgrade, alternative forms of transport such as the ferries.

Northcote Point needs to retain the wharf to ensure an alternative public transport option. AT are stupid if they close the facility

The very fact that the Northcote Point ferry Wharf was allowed to get to a state where it became structurally unsound to operate shows the lack of foresight and progress being made by AT. This is an essential connection for Northcote and requires immediate budget and action to reinstate this service.

My mother in law uses this ferry to get to work each week and to visit her son in the city. It would be a tragedy to see it gone!

The Northcote Point wharf is a critical piece of infrastructure for the people of Northcote. Please get it up and running again. Since its closure I stopped biking to work. We really miss the ferry.

The ferry definitely needs to stay and be an all weather service, ridiculous to even consider stopping it permanently- that would be a step backwards!!

We need the ferry back. Huge delays getting out of Northcote Point via road.

The wharf needs to be rebuilt without delay - it provides a key link to the city from Northcote, especially following all the work that has been done with the cycleway. It is a key part of the transport infrastructure to get more cars off our roads.

Why is the current Northcote wharf closed when the actual fullers ferry’s don’t physically touch the wharf - they lean on the the large pillars?? - reopen the exiting wharf (it can handle 20 people max standing on it) and build an all weather option - the reality is it’s been closed for 4 months because fullers ferry staff don’t like using the existing wharf - and release publicly the condition assessment report so Northcote residents have transparency on this decision- everyday it remains closed is 30+ more cars on queen street.

Why would AT invest in cycle ways along Queen Street if they weren’t going to keep the wharf open ?

I support building an improved ferry terminal for the future of public transport in our area.
