AT should not let an asset that has been part of the Northcote community for over 100 years, is part of the risk management of the transport system to and from the North Shore region and method of transport for so many walk on passenger and cyclists go
un-repaired.
This asset is historical, has tourist potential and is quick assess to the City. Please save Northcote wharf and make it an all weather facility.

Surely closing the wharf makes that cycle lane a waste for the next 4 years or until the path goes in. Why waste something that is already there. It would be a real shame for the neighbourhood

This ferry is an asset to the local community, a part of Auckland’s history that should be protected and essential to the success of the Skypath. Tourists and commuters are likely to only want to head over the bridge in one direction themselves and a ferry return will be a must have. With a reliable all weather ferry service and a good feeder bus/cycle paths this would be a busy commuter route. It is one of the reasons we moved to the area as we believe ferry transport should be a part of Auckland’s future. Not only are ferries good for commuter transport but are a much more attractive option to travelers. We should be looking to Sydney as an example here.

There will be a big increase in weekend usage of the ferry when Sky Path opens. But we, the residents of Northcote Point love our ferry service that has been taken away and can’t wait until then. Please reopen it soon!

Please don’t close my ferry station! I need it to get to work and see my kids before they go to bed after I finish work. Closing it will mean a longer commute for me.

It is vital that all transport options are available and we desperately need to reduce the volume of cars travelling from Northcote Point to the city at peak times. I walk in the mornings and have noted increasingly unsafe driving from people frustrated by the lengthy queues along Queen Street.

Please get the ferry working again. AT spent millions upgrading it in the 1990s and took no notice of skippers all saying do not put wharf stopping at the end do it on the side of wharf or you won't be able to stop. Why does AT continually make costly mistakes and no one holds them to account?
