This Park is a valuable resource to both the hundreds of kids at the school, but the community as well. It should not be overlooked , taken for granted, or allowed to fall into disrepair.

We bring both of our children (aged 2 and 5) to this park at least 2 times per week. We really like the diversity of equipment, but there is a definite need for upgrading or maintenance of the structures to make them safe. I strongly support renovations for this playground

This park could use upgrades. My son isn’t even at the Thompson school yet, but goes to the playground all the time. It gets a lot of use by the community and should definitely be a priority!

This park is directly adjacent to Thompson Elementary and gets a heavy amount of use from the sizeable student body.

would love to see that out neighborhood park would be renovated. Long overdue! This park gets a huge amount of use year round Would also like if the town took a look at our sidewalks or lack of.... N. union street has an enormous amount of foot traffic as well as car traffic, It is beyond my comprehension that we do not have proper sidewalks from the top of the street to the very bottom. This is a School Zone that in my opinion is poorly cared for as far as safety goes..

This park is beloved by my kids and used by Thompson and surround kids daily. The spray park attracts kids from all over Arlington and neighboring towns. Please consider improving it for the safety and enjoyment of these children!

I cannot attend the meeting on the 25th, but we live in the neighborhood and visit this park at least once a week with our 3 small children. Would love for it to receive the care and attention it deserves!

When my partner and I moved to the neighborhood a few years ago, we noticed immediately that the North Union Park playground was a favorite choice for families in the area. Now that we are new parents, we are even more impressed: we learned that friends with children in Medford, Somerville, and Cambridge all make special trips to come out to enjoy this park because of the adjacent fields & spray park. Please help keep this playground safe and fun for so many!

Thanks for taking this up! Because the park and fields were initially built with land and water conservation funds, it will receive special consideration from the state for grant funding. DCR has expressed interest in supporting renovations of the park through their PARC program: https://www.mass.gov/how-to/apply-to-the-parkland-acquisitions-and-renovations-for-communities-parc-grant-program. Unfortunately this year's deadline is July 12th, but I bet we could make a good case for funding next year.

A slide broke on the big structure broke a few years ago and was disappointingly never replaced. I would also love to have more picnic tables (other than the old wooden one) near the playground. A shaded pavilion between the playground and splash pad would be a dream!

Planning on either myself or my wife attending.
