It's getting very run down, dangerous rust and peeling of paint. Broken structures. It's not aging well because of the constant use. There is little to no shade anywhere on the playground either. There is a lot of trash, glass and other things that also offer harm to the children playing there. I think the decay of the park also leads to the decay in treatment and respect for the property. What looks worn and old, will also be treated that way and continue its quick decline. I will do my best to attend the meeting.

We play at the park often and agree the playground is overdue for a renovation, especially since it is also used at recess.

Potholes under the swings are not safe. The supposed little-kid climber is dented. Please update the park to match the same standards as the new water park.

This park is also an incredible place where kids, families and individuals of all ages, ethnicity, and socioeconomic background come together. As such, it serves the critical function of bringing us all together in celebration of life and community; something that is so vital to the health of our community and our country.

We've been using this park for 12 years now, with all three of our kids, and would love to see it get the TLC it deserves. It's a great community resource, and well worth the investment.

I agree with the statement in this petition and also wish to express concern about broken glass and other rubbish found on the playground that make the park less than safe for children, especially small children.

As a teacher and a parent, this park needs renovations. The equipment is out dated and the ground surface is unsafe.

We play here on a regular basis and the ground is very uneven on the playground. The diggers in the sandbox need a lot of attention to bring them back to their original functionality. I'd like to also add that there is a mud hole that has developed near the smaller sprinklers on the spray park that is a home to wasps, if there was also a way to address that in this discussion.

This park is a valuable resource for our neighborhood and Arlington and neighbors in other towns. The spray park is beautiful and it would be great if the play park received a major renovation and beautification to ensure the safety of its users. Its location, walking distance to Arlington's Family Housing, Menotomy Manor, can offer a wonderful outdoor experience to the many children and families living there. Thank you for your time and energy in looking at the possible improvements that can be made.

As a father of two boys and a member of the Arlington community, I sign this petition with two thoughts in mind. One is that I want to give my children, my friends, and my fellow Arlington neighbors the safe, welcoming, and enjoyable park that they deserve. I know the frequency of use is high amongst my circle of friends that I've met through Thompson School and I know how truly important this is to all of us. Secondly, I sign this petition to commit to doing whatever is needed to make our vision for the park a reality. This park is part of my "home" and I commit to participating in this process for the long-term to make it happen.
