North Tonawanda High School Senior Privileges For An Open Campus Lunch

I think if someone skips class after their lunch period they should be punished by not being able to go out for their lunch. don't punish the students who follow the rules just because some people might skip. or how some schools let seniors with an overall average of 85% or higher leave, we should be rewarding kids and school lunches are NOT enough for teens.

Why not leave for lunch? I think its a great idea, just hold the student responsible for returning on time or loose the privilege. School lunches are terrible and are not enough food for a high school student.

I believe there are two issues here to be considered. 1) Senior privilege - I see no reason not to acknowledge those who have worked hard during their high school years by allowing them an opportunity to go off campus. (I doubt that the kids that earned the privilege would risk this opportunity by skipping out for the remainder of the day or causing trouble in the community.) This would also give the students in younger grades something to strive for. 2) If the quality of food the cafeteria is offering is that bad, something should be done to improve it for ALL students.

Honestly y'all can live without an open campus. Every other class before you did. So what the lunch did sucks? Get over it. Bring your own. Ya know how many kids wouldn't go back to class if they get out for a lunch? The amount of skippers would multiply. And do you really think 50min would be long enough for you to go and buy food and eat it outside of the school? It's enough for most people but next thing you'll be petitioning for is a longer lunch. And there's already tons of drama after school in the plaza the the businesses I'm sure will very quickly end the open campus because most of you doing know how to be respectful and act like normal human beings out in public

We should be able to have senior privileges we are 17 to 18 and most of us don't live with parents

They need to have open campus. And they should start doing their job better and guidance needs to help guide students and help us become better young adults

This needs to be possible for all highs school students ,no matter what grade

I feel this is a great idea even though I'm not a senior, and I also agree that the lunches that they serve are horrible, except for the salad/sub line. So I feel that sophomores and freshmen and also the juniors should have some recognition for this argument as well..

lets give these young adults a chance to prove they can be responsible..

I think we need an open campus for everyone but a open campus for seniors is a good start

It's more than reasonable to allow seniors, even juniors, to leave the school for lunch, especially with the plaza right next door and everything; even for kids who live close by & want to go home and enjoy a nutritious meal and a break from academics. If kids decide not to return, isn't that their choice and their problem? Highschool is a place to foster individual volition and the discovery of consequences, good or bad, for ones action or inaction. Also let's be honest, school lunches are pretty gross. Let them Leave!

I used to go there even then the lunches were horrible instead of worrying about the stupid football team and athletics let's focus more on the more important things like a decent Nutritional lunch that picture is just plan sad even prisoners eat better than that

The lunches are so horrible now tast gross even the milk is bad why keep forcing kids to take lunches there not going to eat most throw it away and go hungry the whole day
