I wish I could have breastfed properly, that the midwives in hospital could have been less contradictory of each other.

I totally support this. My little boy is 5 months and has been breastfed since birth. Ive found most places to be totally accepting and supportive but you do get the odd people that judge which is so wrong. I'm sure they'd find a screaming baby more offensive!!

In a ideal world we shouldn't have to petition for the most natural thing that a human can do!

completely agree, im fortunate enough to be confident to feed in public and can shrug off the negative looks but I know others don't. totally agree that breastfeeding should be as well advertised as formula.

It should be viewed as normal to breastfeed anywhere that it is acceptable for any individual to eat. Breast feeding is not shameful, rude or dirty and should not be hidden away as it is a normal and natural way of providing food to a human infant.

I have never had anyone be negative to me about feeding in public (or maybe I've just never noticed) but I totally agree that breastfeeding does need to be normalised and that education is the way forward

It's the most natural thing in the world. Please help to promote it so we're not subjected to abuse or ridicule in public.

I love this! more education means more support which will normalise breastfeeding so new mummys are empowered to nurse in public :)

More support and education is needed for new mothers, kids in school, workplaces. This is a natural part of life and mothers shouldn't be made to feel that it is wrong to feed their children in public

I don't breast feed but 100% support this, no one turns an eye when you get a bottle out to feed your baby and breast feeding should be the same!

More education and information is needed to help support Breastfeeding mothers.

More places should be provided for mothers too - so many coffee shops etc not designed for buggies, or have chairs uncomfortable for feeding in.

I 100% agree. It is about time steps are taken ti normalise breastfeeding and breastfeeding in public. If a mothers right to feed in public was protected by law hopefully more mums would feel more comfortable to feed im public, more youngsters would see this as normal and create a positive cycle so in 20years time its normal to see breastfeeding mommas everywhere! ! :D

Absolutely agree, not had anything negative happen to myself but have heard some terrible stories from others. Also maybe soaps/tv shows should show and promote breastfeeding more.

It needs to be the normal thing to feed your baby not the best not make it elitist just normal and done in a way that shows anywhere any time is ok and that the law will back them up and not just in a civil court.
