Don't take away lanes from Norfolk's Hampton Blvd.

traffic is already too congested - do not remove a lane to create another unused bicycle lane in Norfolk

I don't agree with replacing the stop light system at Hampton and Jamestown Crescent--current arrangement seems to be working satisfactorily and costs much less than the estimated 1 million dollars to replace the lights!!

With Navy, ODU, and Port of Virginia truck traffic, we need every lane possible on Hampton Blvd. Bikers can bike there now-they don’t need a separate lane. It is perfectly safe now for bikers, who are few and far between.

Unless the City has compelling evidence of specific safety improvements from reducing the number of lanes from three to two on the contemplated stretch of Hampton Boulevard, I am opposed to the lane reduction, and further believe that putting bike lanes on Hampton Boulevard is a bad idea and a wasteful use of taxpayer money!

Please don't take away anymore vehicle traffic Lanes. It's hard enough getting around Ghent time Larchmont now. Colley Avenue is a mess now with the bike Lanes and very few people use them. I saw 1 person in a bike lane all last week.

Please do not take Eileen away from Hampton Boulevard. The traffic on Colley Avenue and Jamestown Crescent it’s awful now, and if we lose another lane on Hampton Boulevard, the traffic on Jamestown Crescent will be unbearable

Add for speed enforcement and stop light devices.

I live at the corner of Hampton Blvd and Spotswood. I would prefer to see the city invest in speed and red light cameras. They not only deter unsafe driving practices, but immediately penalize those who violate the speed limit and run red lights. In the DC area they are everywhere. After getting hit with a few $100 tickets you learn to slow down.

No bike lanes on Hampton Boulevard!

It will create more constant, compressed car noise as our friends on Ocean View Ave are experiencing. It will also create more cut through traffic within the neighborhood such as Jamestown, Lexan, and Magnolia which will start devaluing our homes. Morning traffic to the naval base is already backed up south of the Lafayette River bridge.

Bike lanes are unsafe to both pedal pushers and car drivers. Cars cannot safely swing wide enough to safely pass pedal pushers.

Has the city abandoned all legitimate traffic engineering in lieu of these unsupportable fantasy theory’s such as “lane diets”?Enforcing the speed limit during weekdays, not just Sunday mornings, will do more for safety than anything else.

Being a former city council candidate for ward 2 during the 2018 May election, I spoke with hundreds that live along and near and use Hampton Blvd daily about the issues of traffic and the bicycle lanes throughout our city. Nearly everyone I talked with said the bicycle lanes work great for some cities, but NOT for Norfolk, the lanes only benefit a very small few. Some compared the bike lanes to the Tide, both were over promised, are under utilized, heavily subsidized with taxpayers money and the numbers never add up to justify the expense. For the traffic on Hampton Blvd, the solution I was hearing from most people was adding stop lights in key locations and enforcing speed limits. If I was elected, that’s what I would have been pushing for, not a study on lane restrictions as councilwoman Doyle is doing.

Please do not create a bigger mess then we already have. We do not need anymore bike lanes!! STOP already!!

Bike lanes do not improve our collective quality of life; serving very few of Norfolk's residents while disrupting many.

This would only cause worst traffic jams for rush hours in the am and pm. Please don't worsen the traffic jams.

Please do not lower the speed limit to 25 mph either.... enforce the existing speed limits!

Bike lanes don’t work on all roads.

With Sentara, ODU, NIT and largest Naval base, why would you reduce a lane for traffic?
