Don't take away lanes from Norfolk's Hampton Blvd.

Please do not remove any more lanes from any part of Norfolk. As it is, the bike lanes are ALWAYS empty. They sit there collecting trash, while I wait in traffic. It is absurd to continue to make our roads paths for bikes (this is truly the reason lanes would be removed from Hampton) when they were designed for CARS!!!

Hampton Blvd is an artery in this city. Modifying it for fewer lanes is not a good idea.

You will cause cars to fly through the side streets during traffic backups. One of these timeframes coincides with children walking to morning bus stops. This is a bad idea.

Taking away a lane on an already busy, backed up road is poor judgement and planning. Another decision that will force residents to move out of Norfolk.

Adding bike lanes to Hampton Blvd. will only help to slow traffic to a crawl, especially at rush hour. As a consequence of the idling traffic, pollution levels will rise. Cyclists who breath more deeply than pedestrians will be especially vulnerable to soot and exhaust as they speed by these idling tailpipes. If I was a cyclist I would hope the city would take that into consideration when planning bike routes.

NO to the bike lane!

I commute north bound on Hampton Blvd every day to work. Reducing lanes would significantly hamper traffic and would affect my commute.

Keep the lanes as is.

Bike lanes are not reducing the traffic significantly. Why continue to support the minority when the majority chooses their cars! For the cost that has already been expensed, we cold purchase cars and put them on various blocks for the bikers to drive to work. Closing down lanes for an EXTREMELY few number of bikers will not solve the traffic. People WILL LEAVE Norfolk in hopes of moving to less traffic congested areas!

Please do no remove any lanes from Hampton Boulevard. The truck traffic needs to be addressed and more speed enforcement would be helpful...not a reduction in lanes!

The residents that live along this corridor should have the most voice. It should be a popular vote. Very few people are in favor of the rarely used bike lanes that you wish were more popular. Just enforce the current traffic laws instead of being lazy and sitting at each end of the Hampton Blvd bridge. Listen to your citizens or find yourself out of a position.

Dumb idea. Take the trucks off or confine them to center lane from Little Creek to 38th St. Enforce speed limits and the 4pm to 6am prohibition on trucks.

I live in Meadowbrook and have to get out onto Hampton Boulevard from North Shore Road multiple times every single day. I'm very familiar with how heavy traffic is on this road and at Rush Hour it is especially bad. I am vehemently opposed to any initiative that removes a lane from this busy and vital thoroughfare. The city should find alternative ways to try to slow down traffic in the targeted stretch of Hampton Blvd.

Operate like a democracy and listen to the voters that put you in office. NO lane reductions on this major roadway with 37,000 daily users that is already suffering from inefficient traffic flow. FIX the existing gridlock that occurred twice this week instead of creating more traffic nightmares for this community.

Taking a lane away from Hampton Blvd will do nothing but increase accidents and cause more traffic.

Reducing the lanes is not the solution.

Somebody forgot this is the busiest pathway to the largest Naval Base in the word. We need to keep all the lanes. I hate to see traffic in the morning when they are checking passes if this goes through.

As usual, the errors of the few drivers make the burden on the many. Closing lanes on Hampton Blvd will lead to more traffic jams and possibly more fender benders.

Taking away a lane in this stretch of Hampton Blvd and adding a useless bike lane is a ludicrous plan.
