Don't take away lanes from Norfolk's Hampton Blvd.

Putting bikes with a large number of commercial trucks is asinine. Along with the obvious congestion issues already existing on Hampton, a bike lane isn't safe. Place police randomly, but often, to ticket in the school zones during the week. I see plenty giving tickets during the slow time on the weekends.

We live on Bolling Ave, and understand the danger of this curve. However, closing down these lanes or adding bike lanes would only increase the danger to the bikers. As well as causing a huge backup to morning and afternoon traffic. I work at the shipyard and catch the HRT bus at wards corner. Thursday morning it took closed to 15 min just to get from Taste to the other side of the bridge, where we had to take the neighborhoods so that I could make my bus.

This idea of reducing lanes on Hampton Blvd and adding bike lanes lacks common sense. It will not make it safer not to mention the traffic that would travel through our neighborhood to avoid the back ups. It is an awful idea!

Traffic is already soooooo bad through here, it can take an hour to get through.

Please do not add bike lanes to Hampton Boulevard. I drive this road several times a day and there is already congestion. Adding these lanes just for bikes will make things worse and more dangerous for both drivers and bikers. Everyone rides their bikes now on the sidewalk of the bridge and it doesn't seem to be an issue.

Bike lanes have already reduced Colley Ave. to a two-lane road. Do not reduce Hampton Blvd., our only other north/south route on the city's west side.

I never see bikes use bike lines;however, I see them using car lanes that are one street over! It is a waste of time & money to reduce the lanes on Hampton Blvd.!

DO NOT close any lanes on Hampton Blvd. - north or southbound. Traffic is especially heavy during morning and evening rush hours. Do more to catch speeders, other than setting up at the bottom of the bridge where EVERYONE knows that's where you are. Install a flashing light or other similar light (like the one on Terminal Blvd. now) that indicates in advance that the light at Bolling is either red or turning red so trucks know well in advance to stop. And reduce or take away the median at Bolling so you are able to install a left turn lane at Bolling (southbound side).

Please put 35 mph signs at the peak of the bridge in both directions. That may help. I believe they were once there.

am opposed to closed lanes. Already blocked by trucks, a few of which barrel through red lights with very little police evidence except on weekends when trucks don't travel. any biker would be crazy to ride in a third lane with trucks so close!

I live in Agonquin right where the narrowing would begin! This would be a terrible my idea that would be detrimental to everyone that lives off Hampton. The base traffic already makes it almost impossible to get out of the neighborhood many mornings.

Pretty sure the accident involved and 18 wheeler going to fast. That’s what need to researched and addresses.

I overlooked signing this petition til now- and I'm noting only 146 signatures. Is this our collective voice? 146 cars - and trucks - can mosy likelt roll down Hampton Boulevard in less than 5 minutes. Take just one minute to support this petition and put the "brakes" on this traffic jam of an initiative til it receives further study and scrutiny by the motorists and neighborhoods impacted by it.

I strongly oppose reducing any lanes on Hampton Blvd.

I travel this road daily. It’s already heavily congested with tractor trailers coming to and from the base. It will be a nightmare if a lane is taken away.
