Don't take away lanes from Norfolk's Hampton Blvd.

This will make traffic increasingly worse

it's bad enough.. why reduce lanes???? makes no sense

Bike lanes are a waste of space. They don’t work here or anywhere else

There are too few bicycle riders to support the establishment of bike lanes in the City of Norfolk. Bike lanes add confusion to traffic patterns. Eliminating car/truck lanes on Hampton Blvd. is counter-productive. The Hampton Blvd. curve and intersection at Bolling Ave. southbound is a problem. I agree with the petitioner, Dawn Peters, that work on safety features at this intersection should be a priority.

Keep bikes OFF Hampton Blvd.

The backups during Naval base opening and closings will be tremendous. Hiring more traffic enforcement officers or delegating traffic enforcement authority to the Port Authority and ODU police will be more effective to slow down the truckers.

Bike lanes make it more dangerous as the bike riders think they do not have to follow road rules. And I think the left hand turn at Hampton and billing going south, is very dangerous. Maybe remove that turn. Thank you.

Absolutely putting in bike lanes inn hampton blvd would be a huge mistake and will cause several bigger issues particularly for those of us who live off of Hampton blvd.

I do not want traffic anymore congested then it already is. Please, No bike lane.

Do not take a lane away from the cars and trucks on Hampton Blvd, that is a ridiculous idea! No more bike lanes, the ones that have been established appear to be grossly under utilized and worthless.

Do not dedicate a much needed vehicular lane on Hampton Blvd to bicycles!

This would be a traffic and safety disaster! I am certain the City of Norfolk can find better use of that “green” grant money!

Adding bike lanes is beyond reason. It is crazy dangerous..what on earth is our council thinking!!!!

Please do more research on the use of bike lanes already in place in Norfolk. I have not seen much use in Ghent or Park Place.

Closing lanes to automobiles on hampton blvd will be a nightmare! Not a safe street for bikers even if bike lanes were created. Extremely bad idea!

Hampton Blvd was built with 3 lanes in each direction to handle the traffic before NIT was a factor. Now, with the truck traffic, one lane is already eliminated during the day, filled with trucks. Eliminating another lane for bicycles would leave only one lane for automobile traffic. Just won't work!!

Terrible traffic in areas this has already been done: NYC, Waverly, IA, etc. Also makes it difficult for emergency vehicles to move in an emergency.

Lane reductions don't make sense.
