Don't take Clifton Beach's Beaty with town house settings

Having considered buying this block in the past, the thought of more than two residences/blocks in this space is bizarre. It seems very strange that the council would approve this considering their sustainability obligations to the local coastal environment - the waste water issues alone with the nearby park and oyster farms is a concern.

I oppose this subdivision as it will greatly increase the population of a small significant coastal community that has until now remained basically unchanged for decades. I also believe that the highly reactive clay soil in the area is unsuitable for 13 more septic systems in a small area

The proposed re-zoning of this land is ludicrous. There are huge environmental concerns (waste water already runs off this site into the local kid's park), safety concerns with increased car numbers in an area with heaps of little kids, social/community concerns (we all moved to Clifton to enjoy the space and peace it has to offer, and oriented our house construction/renovations with the knowledge this land could not be re-zoned as prescribed by the Southern Tasmanian Regional Land Use Strategy). A move to re-zone this land would undermine all the values that Clarence City Council proposes to uphold (that of protection of the environment, consideration of it's community members, amongst other values). The Councillors and other parties in charge of decision making for this case need to come down to Clifton, see the site, get independent reports done (eg waste water, hydrology, coastal inundation, etc), and chat to the residents, and it will become obvious why this proposal to re-zone the area should NOT be allowed to proceed.

I can't even believe that the Environmenal Health dept at the Clarence Council would let this go ahead.

This development will have major problems as water run off settles in this area. This could cause major problems during development and after completion. Literally doesn't make logical sense.

This is a special grass land area that needs to be protected.

As a former resident of Dysart Street and committed friend to my former neighbours , I know with great certainty that this proposed development will have major impacts on the lifestyle of existing residents. Please consider that small seaside communities are a preciously held lifestyle choice - further development may see a mass exodus of those who have enjoyed this and nurtured their place together- a sad turn of events.
