I would like to bring attention to an important issue regarding the new tardiness policy and its impact on the school environment.

It is my belief that enforcing detention as a consequence for tardiness may not effectively address the root cause of the issue. If a student gets friday detention, you know they're just going to skip it anyways. Instead, we should consider re-prioritizing putting family first period so we can minimize the amount of tardies in the morning.

However, if a student is late to any subsequent class after Family First, then a tardy should be issued in accordance with the school’s policies.

I am confident that by making these adjustments, we can foster a more supportive and efficient school environment. Together, we can make a difference and improve the overall experience at DCI.
