I definitely think the public, who will be using the bridge, should have an input into naming it. I personally think something like the Three Sisters Bridge would be good because it links Wexford and Kilkenny and will lead to Waterford, the closest city in the region. It would tie in with the Three Sisters ongoing promotional campaign too irrelevant of 2020. Possibly the Five Counties Bridge might be worthwhile too. The name should in itself entice interest from visitors.

This is a matter for the people on both sides of the bridge ,Wexford and Kilkenny , to decide . It is not the gift of temporarily elected councillors nor temporarily appointed officials to name structures and memorials. Let the residents have their say before any decision is made and at least do them the courtesy of not having to read it on the local paper first.

It does not even need to be named after a person. Pink Rock bridge or what ever., or the townlands it starts from.
