The name needs to be local. One that means something to the locality. William Marshall is the founder of New Ross. New Ross is steeped in history. Hive a local hero the accolade.

Despite what it says in this weeks (New Ross ? ) Councillor's Standard , the People have very clearly , Not Spoken ! . The 'powers' that be , had a responsibility to make it clear to the general public , How ? ,Where ?, and When ? , one could register one's opinions . This did not happen . Democracy was buried . Certain people do not want the general public , to have an opinion , and god forbid they should have a voice .

I think the name Kennedy has had it's day in Ross, lets not taint New Ross any further. A fresh start here would be appropriate.

I am a visitor to New Ross and your lovely tapestry. New Ross has a fantastic history with many notable people. Don't Kowtow to the Americans call the bridge after Isobel or, better still, William Marshal. Perhaps, name it Marshal Bridge . This sounds very grand and also marshy or boggy after the lands each side!

To call the bridge after another Kennedy would be an insult to Wexford and Kilkenny people plenty of ledgends and heroes it could be called after ?????????
