We the undersigned request that the village board of trustees in Altamont, NY ban the use of herbicides containing glyphosate on public spaces. Glyphosate is a chemical used in many herbicides. Researchers and scientists are coming forward with information that glyphosate is toxic to human health and tied to a number of serious health-related and environmental issues. We do not want to risk the health of our children, ourselves, our pets, and our community; therefore, we ask that the village solely use alternative ways of managing the weeds and other public spaces throughout the village.
If you do not approve, feel free to write "I do not approve" in your comments. We respect everyone's opinion, and if the majority does not approve we will not submit this petition.

Reaching this level of support is heavier than I expected because it proves how many of us worry about the same hidden dangers in our parks. My exhaustion remains but seeing this backing confirms that our push for safer ground in Altamont is necessary.

Can we please respect the health of our community and keep things as natural as possible.
With so many health issues in our world today it makes sense to eliminate any chemicals that may add to our environment
Would prefer hiring High School kids to weed sidewalks etc as summer work.

Why are we spraying this stuff where kids play? just pull the weeds by hand like we used to.
