I last flew in August 1995. Don't miss it. I've traveled a lot since then by other means, especially by train. We can (almost all of us) do this!

Hour for hour, there is no quicker way of burning through a carbon budget than flying. Keep it on the ground!

The airline industry is slowly killing us through noise and air pollution. We must stop this madness!!!

Travelling isn't a means to an end, getting there as quickly as possible, but a journey and adventure like life. Why not take it slower, get the ferry or the train. Explore your own country and invest in our own tourist industry here and help the young get work. Just a thought

I haven't flown for over 10 years and i plan never to fly again. I love flying but i love our beautiful world, all its creatures and the seasons more. Bravo everyone!!

With sleeper trains, it is possible, and even convenient, to travel in Europe without wrecking the climate ! More night train connections would help reducing the ecological disaster of aviation.

It's time (or 30 years late) for high flying taxes and more subsidised trains.

The subsidies for flying need to be ended. Tax aviation Kerosene. Tax the tickets. Apply a carbon tax. That should lead to quieter skies & less pollution & climate damage.

For my work, I have to fly sometimes - but I found I can fly a lot less than I used to, and I notice that I enjoy rail travel a lot.

‘Not flying’ is so easy once you’ve done it! And full of unexpected pleasures! From Britain there’s almost 30 (comfortable) trains a day linking to the continent with easy connections to more distant parts. Seat61.com explains how.

In our energy transition, removing aviation is the simplest, yet also the most powerful single step towards a culture without fossil fuels & biofuels
