Minehead harbour has encouraged many generations of fishermen who started as children dangling their rods advised by others as to what to do.. Charging will discourage the tradition of centuries!! A nice day go to harbour because you haven't paid a charge you can't fish or crab!! Not fair!!!

The council will gain more revenue from tourists visiting minehead with the plan of fishing the pier while they are on holiday which is part of many families booking plan when on their annual holiday

Just another cash collecting project with no thought to the angling community. Most are elderly people and families with low income .Somerset is under resourced as it is yet alone take away what little pleasure relaxation and mental relief being by the sea and fishing gives you.

Disgrace think the idea is to do away with fishing the harbours walls by pricing it out of peoples means. Why would anyone pay that type of money when you can fish around the corner for nothing

This is a ridiculous idea, the council is totally out of touch with what is best for the long-term good of the community!

I drive 200miles from Derbyshire to fish down there. I think this is totally unfair.

By the introduction of this fee, which is not going to be endorsed, only asking people to move on: (so the council employ someone to do this?), you are also removing accessibility for those people who are mobility impaired, like my son. This is surely discriminatory and about exclusion whereas the seaside is there to be enjoyed by everyone: young and old, able bodied and not so able. Please re-consider this decision.
