Don't take it out on the bears because us humans have encroached on their land. Bears should be revered not killed. Texas used to have our own species of bear unique to our state and no where else. They were all hunted into extinction. We miss them now, but there's nothing we can do. Don't make the same mistake we did. Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you got until it's gone?

Bears should not be killed in Nevada for several important reasons: 1. Ecosystem Balance: Bears play a crucial role in maintaining the balance of ecosystems. They help control populations of prey species, such as deer and elk, which can become overabundant without natural predators. This, in turn, prevents habitat degradation and promotes biodiversity. 2. Genetic Diversity: Killing bears can lead to a loss of genetic diversity within bear populations. Genetic diversity is essential for the long-term health and adaptability of species, especially in the face of environmental changes. 3. Ethical and Moral Considerations: Many people view killing bears as unethical and morally wrong. Conservation efforts often emphasize non-lethal methods for managing human-bear conflicts, such as bear-proof containers and educational programs. 4. Tourism and Recreation: Bears can be a significant draw for tourists and wildlife enthusiasts. Observing bears in their natural habitat can contribute to local economies through tourism and outdoor recreation. 5. Conservation Efforts: Many bear species are already threatened or endangered. Killing bears in Nevada can undermine conservation efforts to protect these species and their habitats. It's important to promote coexistence with bears through responsible management practices and education to minimize conflicts while preserving these vital components of ecosystems.

This bear hunt is so barbaric and inhumane. I found out about this on knpr radio. So many Nevadans and Americans are unaware. I am helping to raise awareness with many Nevadans and they are appalled and disgusted by the bear hunt. It’s so sad to see these innocent animals being terrorized in their environment. Please put a stop to this NOW!

I am so sad and shocked that hunting bears is even happening. With all the fires the bears are struggling and now they need to run for their lives.

There is absolutely no management rationale for allowing bear hunting. The only rationale provided by NDOW is hunter opportunity, i.e., trophy hunting. This must end. Keep the bears alive and wild.

Please help save what little wild we have left in California. Between encroachment and drought, Bears need support not more torture. We must act to save them now.

Contact your legislator and let them know you oppose the bear hunt and oppose a system where by the majority of Nevadans voices are ignored in favor of a handful of trophy hunters:
