For years, the Badger Ferry has been carrying cars and people across Lake Michigan. It's also been dumping tons of toxic coal ash into the lake every day it operates. Now, rather than spend the money to upgrade their ship's engine and join the 21st century, the Lake Michigan Car Ferry Service is seeking National Landmark status so they can continue this unconscionable act. A competing car ferry complies with environmental laws, yet this company is pulling ou the stops to avoid it. We, the undersigned, request that the National Park Service deny this blatant effort to evade the law and refuse to grant Landmark Status to the Badger.
