The government confirmed this morning that the sewage outfall project is cancelled and the current piping will be decommissioned. We have verified the official order to cease discharge operations immediately. I will continue to monitor the water quality reports to ensure full compliance with these new terms.
This petition has been set up because of the unprecedented amounts of sewage now affecting a very popular public beach in Gibraltar. If you are affected by this new contamination please sign the petition and encourage every one you know to do the same. While this is a local problem, sewage disposal and contamination is a real issue worldwide. This petition has been set up b y concerned citizens and is supported by Environmental NGO's
We have reached the five hundred signature mark. I am now finalizing the formal letter addressed to the Gibraltar Environment Department to confirm this volume of public concern.
