Roughly 65,000 American horses are killed cruelly in one of the three foreign-owned horse slaughter plants that operate in the United States each year. Up to date, in the last 24 years 3,929,426 horses have been murdered in the United States and Canada alone.
Before the slaughterhouse, the horses have to go through a slaughter auction. These horses are not all injured, old and unable to work, many of them are young and ridable some of which are: pregnant mares, mares with foals, stallions, former racehorses (some which have raced up to 226 times), camp horses, Amish workhorses and even children

How can anyone be so heartless? My horse is basically a member of my family and reading this makes me sick to my stomach.
