Ban Heavy Bass In Boom Cars Now!

You think living in Vermont is quiet and idyllic? Think again! I bet there's more aftermarket exhausts on motorcycles and cars per capita than any other state. You would not believe how loud some bikers are; it's amazing to me that police turn a blind eye to the noise problem here but then I found out that many police in central Vermont own loud Harleys--that's how pervasive the problem is. Boom cars are not as big of a problem here than other states, but that's likely to change as the population increases. Our right to live in a peaceful society is laughed at by the offenders, the thugs. We must reclaim our rights and banish this gross injustice, this inhumane behavior, before it's too late. I feel your pain, Oregonians!!

We are sorry for your suffering as we are for all of us who are being tormented by these selfish thugs, yes thugs, the problem is that not all who have bass in their vehicles or homes are thugs or would kill to keep their heavy bass, yes there are those who are addicted but the ones who are just are plain selfish, rude derive pleasure from causing others pain and could care less, they are the same ones that would tell you to get lost if they were blowing smoke in your face and you were choking, or their fragrance was killing you or whatever it may be that's offending you, they are bottom feeders, have no manners and for the most part are the dredges of our society and you can't reason with them, unfortunately they wind up in one of two places the prison system or the morgue, sad but true

Do some research it's already been done, but what you need to understand is this is been compared as one victims put it "death by a thousand cuts" if you don't know what that means look it up.

We can relate to this, we used to live in FL. and we too thought we were not going to leave there alive, we moved to NM only to find the problem was prevalent there as well, now on the other side of the country we find the problem is just as bad on West Coast, take heart in knowing their day will come! We survived and hopefully you will too.

I’ve signed this petition in the past, but I’m dismayed to see the way this petition is now set up. It was much easier to view all of the past comments, not just the recent ones. Now, no matter how hard I try I can’t find the past comments. This petition is very valuable and should be sent out to law enforcement and politicians, but the way it is set up is an impediment to it being read by the right people. Just the fact that you have to sign up now and choose a password may turn off a very busy official who is looking for any excuse not to read it in the first place. And if the person who started this petition doesn’t want so called “bass head” to leave rude comments, she should reconsider. Let the people who boom bass and destroy others quality of life show their true colors. When they leave terrible comments they only make their already vile behavior seem much worse. By all means, let law enforcement and politicians read the awful comments by these people. It will only make our cause to stop them that much stronger. Please, if possible make this petition the way it was when it was first started. It is comforting to read the past comments, and know you are not the only person so negatively affected by booming bass is a big help.

I wake up to this horrible noise everyday. It literally makes me sick an my hearing is already bad from a stroke. I am a single lady and have no pull. The fuzz in my ears constantly and the rattles of my olds house windows etc.. I can actually feel the bed moving... it all makes me sick. They know it to. when I come out of my house to go to work, they look over at me and laugh. It's a horrible way to start each new day but the police tell me from 7am to 10pm I have to put up with it. Since I work graves, that means I don't get my sleep and have no rights.

Please address this issue. This kind of sound is a weapon worse than a gun because it doesn't just do it's damage and end, it irritates people into hatred which is an incredibly powerful and bad thing. Are we going to have to live in a country where everyone has these sound systems to down out one another? It is going to result in a form of civil combat. I know the military has researched such weapons, and it's only a matter of time people are going to start seriously fighting with sound unless ordinances are created and enforced. I wish this were not so, but it's the jerks that take it too far pushing people into making more laws. Thanks to those aholes to ruin it for everyone.

No dignified respectable civil society would allow its people to be terrorized with such despicable garbage that defines the noise that emanates from these mentally ill warped people that blast it. They are not mature and of the right mental state that they should even be granted driving licenses.

This noise assault has got to be brought under control. Soon!

Chicago has laws on the books against such noise, but they are rarely enforced because the shear "volume" of offenders.

It is unreasonable to think that one cannot enjoy a sense of peace and quiet in one's own home and yard. Please help us to quiet our streets so that those of us who cannot afford to live in affluent areas can also enjoy our home lives. It is frustrating to be assaulted by noise in the safety of one's home or car. Is it really necessary to shake, rattle and roll windows and possessions in pursuit of a good time? If these individuals want to assault their own senses, then I encourage them to do so, in the privacy of their own homes. I do not share their taste in music or civil disobedience. Please help us.
