On March 6, 2009, the Parker County Commissioners Court voted to adopt an ordinance that prohibits the discharge of firearms on lots that are 10 acres or less in platted subdivisions.
The signers of this petition believe that this ordinance will not stop irresponsible shooting, but only restrict the rights of responsible gun owners.
Furthermore, the ordinance was hastily adopted without sufficient notice for community discussion.
This petition seeks to influence the Parker County Commissioners court to rescind the ban at the earliest opportunity, and work with citizens from both sides to find a reasonable and fair solution with sufficient discussion.
Please take a moment to sign the petition and voice your opposition to this ordinance.
This is total overreach. I should be able to shoot on my own land without the county telling me what to do. My neighbors are fine with it and we are safe.
