I think this is disgraceful. I am a mother of one and I could not have coped during labour without the support of my partner. Also so unfair on a father to miss the birth of his child if he would like to be there

I’m sorry I completely disagree with this petition, I’m currently 8.5 months pregnant and by the time I give birth this pandemic is probably be in the height of it in Dublin, Of course I’d love to have my partner with me but I do have to think of the bigger picture and safety of everyone, other patients, midwives, etc.. and especially my 2 year old son. I think we all have to make sacrifices for the greater good and health of everyone. Your partner will have many more memories and support to give throughout the years,

Ridiculous measure. No research to support this. Anactotal evidence shows very little Ill effect to mothers and babies. No need to cause this extra stress to new parents. Instead find ways to reduce risk while accomadating the entire triad around the birth. I'd rather stay home than attend a service that enforces such restrictions.

Horrified that this is been considered. Such a vulnerable time for a mother. A birthing partner us essential.

Everybody needs a support person, labour is hard enough - don't make it harder.
Your partner is vital during the birthing process
No woman with no parter in labour
