I cannot see the sense in this when both father and mother would have same exposure.

I Am totally stressed over this decision I'm due my baby in9 weeks and I need my partner by my side now more than ever and he is also devastated to be told he can not be there when his child comes in to this world. Give the protective clothing what ever it takes !

I think it is so unfair not to have a birthing partner with you when you bring your little bundle of joy in too the world. It is meant to be the most exciting time in their lives but it is turning into one of the scariest as they are doing. It alone. It is so unfair on the fathers as well that they don't get to have that bound with the child and experience the birth with the mother

No woman should have to give birth alone if having a birthing partner is what she chooses. It's a very traumatic and difficult time for some women. Support is what they need, not to feel alone. Please don't allow us to go back to stone age settings in maternity wards for pregnant women.

It's a disgrace that this should not be allowed to happen as it is an important time for both parents.

Totally understand the unprecedented times we find ourselves in.
I am social isolating and adhering to all advice and being a good citizen to prevent the spread of this awful disease.
Being a good citizen is not always doing what we are told. It is about doing the right thing. Not having your birthing partner with you is not right. Risk assess, if they have been self isolating and are part of the same family unit the risk is somewhat mitigated to the spread. Have ppe available, train the partner up in what they should be doing and prevent longer stays in hospital with more interventions required for anxious mothers to be.
Dont let fear come in the way of common sense. Manage the risk.
