Birthing alone can have long lasting profound traumatic effect on a woman. This is barbaric. It also denies the father, friend, mother, grandmother witnessing the birth and importance of playing part and giving support. It's not ok. It doesn't make sense- even with COVID 19 crisis. This must STOP.

Pregnant myself and due in 3 weeks. Can't bare the thought of not having my partner there with me. I feel so sorry for any women who goes through labour and birth alone. Please don't let this be the norm during this already scarey time.

This is the sadness most scariest thing to ever have to encounter, you’re at your most vulnerable, with no back up for help if something goes wrong. I wish you every strength & I know when this baby is born it will have the strongest parents imaginable to have gone through this time. Best of luck & I’ll be thinking of you both x

These men are in their homes with their partners already, they can be given ppe and allowed directly to the delivery suite and then home, no woman should have to give birth alone

I'm being forced to give birth at mulingar hospital on my own, I'm due in 5 days can't change hospital as I have tryed, the stress and anxiety this has caused is not good for me or my unborn child, they have sucked the happiness out of the end of my pregnancy and i think it's disgusting that they have the right to do this to mothers and fathers a like.

Couldn’t have laboured twice without my husband !!! It was too hard. Plus .. he’s so calm and I needed the one person who knows me truly to be there. Good luck all.

Fathers have the right to birth with their partners..the consequences to not allowing them puts more stress on the birthing mother which transcribes as more stress on the healthcare system which is already maxed particularly in this current climate

this is a must, it will only put more pressure on the health system if partners are not allowed, think of the bigger picture please..

No woman should have to give birth on their own. It is a very distressing time for both the mother and father. If partners are showing no symptoms of the virus there should be no issue allowing partners or husbands at the birth!
