Fathers need to be at the births for many a reason, so not take this right away from the mothers and fathers it’s not right.

We should be allowed partners to appointments and labour and be granted our follow up appointments if there are issues which we are not getting

I'm due a c section here in April. I think my partner should be allowed in for the birth and to take our baby while the doctors are doing what needs to be done after the baby is born.
with the risks involved who will be able to make decisions about my care if I'm not able to? Seriously stressing about this. Its against WHO guidelines, they are not agreeing pregnant women birth alone!

Absolutely, no woman should have to go through labour all alone. Third world scenario.

I’m 35 weeks with twins, our first babies and I cannot imagine giving birth without my husband. It’s very upsetting. Hopefully something can be done.

I am due to have my baby in May but I am from mayo. I would be heartbroken if i was told i had to do it alone.. giving birth is scary and not having your partner to suppose you would make things so much harder. Please think of us mums.

Birthing partners are essential for pregnant womens mental health. The partners will be driving the pregnant women to the hospital so if they have corona virus so do the mothers. Please lift this policy. Pregnant women have the right to have birthing partners with them. And if the birthing partner is the babys father they too have the right to be there for their childs birth.

Mental health is just as important. Birthing partners are important and essential in labour and birth for support and reassurance of mother. They know the mother better than midwifes and doctors to help the mother remain calm and focused.

Having been assured all the way up until last week that this would not happen under any circumstances. I’m disgusted. My partner is stressing about delivering our first baby without anyone she knows. Thanks for letting her find out on her due date from someone else. With not enough time to make alternative arrangements with a more caring hospital.
