No woman should be denied the support and care she wants in labour and birth. Women's experiences are important during birth and we deserve to have a partner their if we wish to. WHO recommends that birth partners are allowed; please go with this recommendation and respect the woman's birth experience! A birthing mother is just as likely to be a carrier of Covid-19 as her birthing partner; should SHE not be allowed at her birth either?!

this doesnt need a comment. anyone with a brain would know the emotional stress giving birth can cause. when i went in to give birth to my 1st child, nothing prepared me for the emergency c section i ended up having, resulting my body to go into shock afterwards. leaving my new born baby with her father for the 1st 4 hours of her life while i recovered....... giving birth is the most unpredictable thing in the world and woman need all the strength and support they can get!!! i can understand not allowing partners in after the baby has been born due to the covid-19 pandemic, but woman NEED them at the birth. its only right!!!

I agree I'm expecting my first baby and the anxiety and stress that this is causing is unnecessary.

Personally think it’s horrible to tell a mother she can’t have a birthing partner with her during one of the scariest moments in her life. We have enough stress at the moment without adding more

Mothers need support from their partners . Midwives in the south were awful both times . I was glad to have my husband there to keep them in line . A little more cleaning a little less chatting and social media and it will be safe for everyone. Or if they can’t keep Mother’s and baby safe .... home birth where possible

This is very harsh on women in labour. While we all understand the risks giving birth should be seen as compassionate grounds and exceptions to visiting restrictions made.

The birth is not just about the physical well being but also the mental wellbeing. Mothers need the support of a partner who is there just for this

As the parents will be isolating together until the point of entering the hospital if they adhere to the guidelines, how is this increasing the risk

Any women denied her partner at the birth of their child is inhumane and will have devastating consequences on their mental health. It goes against the WHO recommendations and to be honest it goes against human decency.

I am in full support of not having to birth alone. This is my first pregnancy but regardless i would be terrified and so distraught if i had to go through birth alone. My pregancy has already been so tough. My partner also deserves the right to be present for one of the most specoal moments in our lives. Thank you

I'm not due until July really hoping this is all over with by then but the taught of himself not been there for any of it is giving me so much bad anxiety expecially that it's my first but regards to that I think any woman in labor should have a birthing partner with them, I understand the risks but if they take every procaution there is there should be an exception

This is cruel and unnecessary. Evidence shows poorer outcomes for birthing mothers and babies who do not have a support partner present. Once their birth partner feels well, wears appropriate PPE and restricts movement through the hospital it’s reasonable that they be present for the birth of their child
