No woman needs this at this time. We need our partners there to help us. Worrying enough times for people. Parents need bonding time with there wee bundle.

This is a stressful enough time without having to worry that I will be alone giving birth to our first baby. It is an absolute disgrace to do this to pregnant women.

Really unfair that 1st time mum are not allowed there partners or birthing partner. It's a scary experience. And for fathers to be left out. Why not allow them there for the birth at least. I had my twins in mullingar and had awful experience afterwards with no help from any of the nurses. Only for my husband was there most of the day and I signed myself out.

I had a traumatic 18 hour Labour. I was heavily dazed from the medication, I received two epidurals, my body failed to dilate any more than 6cm, my body tried to push my baby out, my babies heart rate dropped and after 17.5 hours of labour I was rushed for an emergency c-section. My partner had to make decisions for me as I was in no fit state to make them myself. I was not fully aware of what was happening and if it was not for my partner, things may have played out much differently. I needed him there.

First baby, i am due tomorrow and I am so anxious at the thought of not having my partner there. Completely understand he cannot come in before labour and has to leave after birth. Absolutely no way should he miss the birth of our child nor should I be deprived of his support. Nobody knows me better. Appreciate midwives will be there however they won't be there 100% of my labour and they don't know how I think or how I should be in certain situations. If anything is wrong my partner will know straight away and be my voice should I not be able to find it. We need our husband/partner/birth support there and it's our right to have that especially during such a huge moment in our lives.

I don't think any mammy should have to be alone I understand keeping everyone safe but partners or family member should be allowed in for the birth

This is utterly inhumane and a clear violation of human and parental rights. Also goes to show why a dedicated home birth service is desperately needed. This cannot be allowed to stand. Pregnant and birthing women aren't sick and shouldn't have to be deprived of their human rights just because their Government insists on providing them with zero alternatives to birthing in a place built for treating sick people.

No woman should ever but put in a position to give birth alone. Birth can be a traumatic experience, even in a"good, normal" birth and as per WHO recommendations we should allow partners to prevent a future mental health pandemic

Over due my baby by one week. It is not right or fair to do this to us. It's already such a stressful time by doing this hour causing terrible mental health problems. No to us women doing it alone !!!

If you take away a womans right to have a birth partner, then there is going to a rise in interventions, birth trauma and ptsd. I hope the trust has set aside funds to deal with this future pandemic of mental health problems the trust will will cause!

It is a breach of rights. It is wrong and will cause more unnecessary intervention. It is not reducing any risk but only creating further. It is just wrong on so many levels.

This is possibly the most crucial time to have your partner by your side.
