A birthing partner is a right not a privilege. They are entitled to be there for support and to bond with partner and baby.

Not right at all. My partner was the only reason I got through both my labours with minimal drugs

My daughter and her partner are expecting their first baby in 11 weeks. I feel Mullingar Hospital are not being fair to women who'd have to give birth without their partners. This is a very anxious time for women having babies and having their partners with them can ease their anxiousness. Even if dad -to-be can be in the labour ward when his firstborn enters the world , dads need to bond with their baby. Mullingar Hospital I hope you change this law. Think of the mothers-to-be.

Other Irish hospitals are allowing birthing partners, so it really doesn't make sense for a few hospitals to decide that birthing partners are non-essential.

Please change this. The pregnant woman is just as likely to carry covid 19 into the birthing suite as her husband. They live in the same house. It’s barbaric and cruel.

It's a basic right for a birthind mother to have a partner or companion with her. The baby needs to bond with the father. The father would be spending time with the mother bother before and after the birth. Let comon senses prevail
Let women be supported on their pregnancy journey
