I was walking through the hallway today and just kept thinking about how stifling these rules feel especially when it is so hot in the classrooms. I have been drafting a list of specific changes to hand over to the office people because honestly we are just tired of being policed for wearing comfortable clothes.

I really did not think this would gain this much steam but here we are and it is honestly wild to see everyone coming together like this. It feels like the school administration might actually have to listen to us now because the sheer amount of people speaking up is impossible to ignore.

Please allow the children the opportunity to wear their own clothing this year. If it doesn't work out then by all means go back to the uniforms. Take in consideration the economy, parents that have more than 1 child that probably can't afford uniforms, shoes, school supplies, etc.
None uniform is LESS expensive. Uniform pants are AT LEAST $20 now for ONE pair. Not including shirts shoes AND a supplies
With the cost of living at an all time high the uniform policy makes parents spend more money than necessary when taking care of our families day to day is already a struggle. We have to buy day to daily wear & church clothes already... Why should we have to buy uniforms as well? Give the kids back their individual identities by canceling out the uniform policy. A dress code should be followed & is sufficient. We shouldn't have to purchase uniforms to gain our children access to an education. Uniforms didn't make our schools better; they made them worse because it caused certain students to find negative means of self expression.
I am now attending my first year at WHS and have always been required to wear Uniform, which has none inspiration on who I am. To approximately every student in the world wants to be out of uniform for schools years, Right? And what everyone thinks that it's just a reason to look cool and express our selves, well you're right! And the one thing that students leave out of that essay we receive about uniform or none is that it's an unexplainable way of how we laugh, enjoy education and school period. So how about it ??
I believe every student at this age should be able to express him/herself freely because at this age range , teens have the growing responsibility of representing themselves accordingly.
Let us have our own identities!

I got picked on last year at whitehaven because of the kind of shoes I wore, and how dirty my uniforms was, also when we were out of uniform people checked what I wore which was clothes from goodwill because I am not wealthy at all. I do not wanna go through this every day. I hate that I get bullied because of my clothes , and being out of uniform will only make it worse. Please don't go through with this petition.
