No Turbines/ Rezoning on Short Mountain-Hardy County, WV

I am opposed to these windmills I want to protect the natural beauty of our community.

I oppose the rezoning for the proposed wind turbine farm on Short Mountain. I own property that would join this proposed area.

I oppose any and all large scale wind turbine development in Hardy County, including the proposed Short Mountain project...for all the reasons given in the petition PLUS the fact that this is not truly a renewable source of energy when full lifecycle costs are accounted for. I oppose this, completely. Shredding our environment and quality of life to enrich some folks 1000 miles away, plus a single local landowner with no regard for their neighbors or community. This brings zero value to anyone else, and is a detriment to the local communities and quality of life. Folks preaching about the "benefits" of windmills need to do some homework on them, and the energy company and the landowner should all go back to their concrete jungle in Chicago, a festering armpit of a place. We don't want this here.

Hazardous to natural habitat, danger to protected wildlife, net negative for energy production, hazardous waste into water supply, EYESORE OF IMMENSE PROPORTIONS

...and Mount Storm comes in at about 26% of rated capacity (per EIA numbers.) Bottom line, the massive expenditure to produce, deliver, install and maintain the NedPower Mount Storm windmills has a negligible impact on the coal fired power plant, which must run 24/7/365

We have a pair of eagles nesting in the area- putting their lives at risk for this ugly, inefficient waste of public funds is just what you'd expect from a lobbyist from Chicago and policy wonks in D.C.

Having seen the destruction used in the forest floor at the Mt Storm wind farm to accomodate 500' tall cranes to hoist the turbines in place as well as miles of trenching and deforestation to bury electric cables, the energy output for the total destruction and devine of property values isn't worth it.
