No Turbines/ Rezoning on Short Mountain-Hardy County, WV

I do not agree with wind energy.

While there may be merit to the establishment of wind farms, this is just NOT an appropriate location. There is no need to place these in the middle of a well established community. The damage to the existing community, natural habitat, wildlife, etc. does not seem worth it given the relatively few turbines that would be installed. There has to be a significantly more acceptable location somewhere in WV where the physical, financial and emotional toll would be less of a burden to the citizens and more profitable to those deigning to usurp what so many have worked hard to build, cherish and enjoy.

We dont want the eye sore on our beautiful mountains here in Hardy Co. Will fight this to the end to make sure they dont get their way. Kills our wildlife and just looks like crap. We dont want our trees stripped off the mountains for 6 miles. No one wants to hear these windmills or see them here.

Do not allow these monstrosities that will wipe out developing bald eagle population, present a danger to adjacent landowners, ruin the natural beauty that forms the tourism industry and such projects have a history of increasing residential electric rates elsewhere.

Want to see a mess...visit Pinnacle Project (Mineral County), noise, destructive wildlife, no bond, and destroyed roads. In less than 10 years, it was torn down, and another new project was built, only to collect subsidies.

My heart goes out to all the people who have purchased property so very close to these 600+ tall wind turbines. In reading many of the protest letters on the PSC website this was their retirement property, building their dream home. The proposed 19 wind turbines are too close to many of the surrounding properties and one parcel that is hosting the turbines is long and narrow, again too close to neighboring properties.

I am strongly against rezoning for a variety of reasons. The most egregious aspect of the turbine project is lack of setback from adjacent (residential) homes. Setbacks should be at least two to three miles from residents. Invenergy is apparently willing to sacrifice the safety and property value of the neighborhoods surrounding the proposed site.

I am opposed to wind turbines anywhere as they are never cost effective, no company would build them , but they are subsidized by your tax dollars. Our beautiful view of the Allegheny front has been marred by 100+ wind turbines that we can see from our house.

With my family having lived on Wolfe Mountain in Hardy Country for decades, I am totally against wind turbines any place in WV.

My family has owned property in Hardy County on 220S at the Hardy/Grant County border since the 1700's. This is a disgrace to destroy the beauty and farm/family use of our land. NO MORE WIND TURBINES IN WV!

I am absolutely opposed to the Invenergy proposal to build wind turbines on Short Mountain. It is harmful to local residents and wildlife.

I am against the wind turbines on Short Mountain. Among others things they will: destroy the beautiful views, create noise in an otherwise peaceful area, cause property values to go down, create light pollution and have a negative impact on wildlife. Say no to wind turbines on Short Mountain.
