I object to rezoning this development to 1 acre lots for the reasons listed in this petition. Please be good neighbors and leave the 5 acre requirement for this beautiful area.

Besides my extreme concerns about septics and the potential for ground water contamination. The bedrock on our hill has caused us a lot of headache and expense. When we built our house it cost us an excessive amount of money on day one to dig 6-8 ft deeper (we hit this bedrock digging our foundation) , had to employ engineers to redesign our footings, delayed our build, had to redesign drainage around the house...expensive. New homeowners who build on this hill need to be made aware. Planting trees, putting in posts for gardens...this bedrock is horrible. This area is not meant for high density housing.

The points stated by Patrick Georno and Douglas Auleta could not have been expressed more eloquently. I wholeheartedly agree with them. Once the balance of nature is compromised it is irreparable.

What reason, other than the developer's raw greed, would one want to change the zoning?

Strongly oppose this rezoning! We just moved to the area in February and selected our home due to the rural feel yet close to town. The proposed development would ruin this ambiance of the area. Traffic concerns are a safety issue.

This would create a major traffic safety issue to existing homeowners along Abbey, Allemande, Morning Dove, Birch Hills Lane, and Birch Hills Drive. The only access to these properties is from Priory Road using Abbey Road. This higher density will cause significant strain on well water safety. I know that in the past the original home on the property being developed had unsafe water. I fear that the smaller lots will have a negative impact on the value of existing homes as well.

We have sent a letter stating our concerns to Town Hall Board. We are against rezoning from 5 acres to 1-2 acres high density lots!

I oppose the requested zoning change. I appreciate all of the information our neighbors have compiled that factually supports the existing zoning for this property.

This is a noble cause. We as a community need to rally together against this clear money grab. Our county needs to make the correct decision, and let me be clear; it is an easy one at that. Shame on everyone involved that it has come this far in the process.

I think it's important to respect all views in these matters.
That being said, I think it is imperative to proceed with growth in a controlled, thoughtful manner.
Those of us that moved to this area were motivated by the fact that this would be a low density area committed to providing an environmentally friendly approach.
We have already seen significant increase in traffic with the University facility off of Priory Road.
If the ordinance to limit growth is easily overturned, there is an erosion of confidence in local government. This will also bring discord to our community.
Let's move towards sensible growth that is acceptable to all, motivated by the common good and not expedience and greed which in the end fails us all.
Peace.

Seems like the country charm would be lost.
