It doesn't need a centre. I have always found YWT people to be very individually self centred - they're the kind of people who don't fit in anywhere else in society hence why there is little to no community engagement.

We are members of the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and have spent many weekends at Spurn Point. We think that the proposed visitor centre is in the wrong place. The area is a rich habitat, ideal as a first stop over for tired migrating birds . It will destroy the habitat and in addition will result in increased vehicle and pedestrian activity thereby further disrupting the wildlife. The existing centre could be improved or another one developed further inland.

The siting of this proposed visitor centre is ridiculous. There can be no justification for taking superb wildlife habitat away forever and blocking the main migration route when perfectly suitable sites are available nearby. Rethink this folly now!

A definite no to any wildlife one stop shop! let's keep things simple, uncluttered and allow birds, butterflies, dragonflies, flowers etc to retain their heritage in this fragile landscape. We don't need yet more human construction invasions into nature. Keep Spurn wild!

Seems YWT are more interested in the money making business after all. My mrs is cancelling her membership. We looked this up after seeing the posters on our latest visit to Spurn.

I'm a YWT member. The proposed location is totally inappropriate - placing a visitor centre right on top of the habitat visitors should experience madness
