I sniff a rat here..... or is it a white elephant? The YWT are basically taking a dirty horrible bribe and they should be ashamed of themselves. They should be forced to remove the word TRUST from their title.

Commercialismappears to be destroying bird habitat like a cancer, lets hope we can find a cure.
I like it just as it is, a natural wild life site.

Please let Spurn remain the natural place it should be. You made a point of not encouraging me to visit when the Tengmalms Owl was their so why they change. just leave it it be.

Protect and safeguard what is already there, don't scar or deface it. YWT need to look for a more environmently friendly place for their visitor centre.

It would seem that the existing YWT arrangements in place to facilitate visitor numbers at Spurn is sufficient. Why build this eyesore?

The location for the visitor centre is totally ubsuitable. It will be a permanent man made eyesore. It will disturb good cover for migrating birds and take away the changes that nature alone makes. It will disrupt the op[eness and views over the Humber Estuary and North Sea.

If YWT want to encourage wildlife they should be extending the Kilnsea Wetland area and perhaps putting the centre in that area.

I've been visiting Spurn on a regular basis for the last 30 years and have always been drawn to it by its wildness. YWT should be ashamed of themselves even proposing this eye sore of a building!

I think if any development needs to be done, the existing facilities at the Blue Bell could be expanded. YWT would loose the E-on money, but would win supporters overall rather than loosing them.

we need to keep Spurn as wild as possible. any building is bound to make the area less wild and less amenable to wildlife. The birds love and need the place to be as natural as possible ANY building will reduce the attractiveness to brds who are already exhausted when they land at the point

I agree Spurn is a unique place and there is no need for some super visitor centre or if there is not in this location - A building of this size could alter the movement of the birds along the peninsula. An ideal location is next to the pub or similar

For many years Spurn Nature Reserve has operated without any need for a visitor centre, I see no need for one now. I also object to an energy company paying for any such project - they are responsible for the huge monstrosities offshore that spoil the view and are probably going to kill many migrating birds along this coast. I thought YWT were there for the protection of wildlife, not to turn it into a circus. If this goes ahead I shall resign as a member.
